Although deeply rooted in our personal values, SME strives to include the ecological aspect in each of the development stages of your project.
Far from Greenwashing, this is an approach we have detailed for over 20 years.
We are convinced that every small gesture is important.
1° Project Ideation
Ecological reflection is not a sticky note that must be added at the end of a creative process. On the contrary, to be coherent and effective, this logic must be present at the base of the project design.
Everything matters; from the size of the elements to their composition, weight, etc.
Sur Mesure Expo incorporates each of its projects into a logic of maximum reuse of existing resources without ever compromising the original character of each stand.
2° Manufacturing
Located in Charleroi (BE), we strive to source raw materials from local partners; 80 to 90% of our suppliers are located within about fifty kilometers of our warehouse.
Active and precise management of our stock allows us to purchase only what is necessary. Our raw materials are mostly sourced from eco-responsible resources.
Sur Mesure Expo uses modular systems for the structure of its stands. For partitions, we opt for an ultra-light modular aluminum frame system which has allowed the company to abandon classic construction techniques.
The modularity of this system drastically reduces the quantity of materials needed for each stand. Each well-maintained frame has an unlimited lifespan.
This system offers unparalleled flexibility and speed of implementation. Other modular systems (raised floor, rigging, furniture, etc.) further allow us to reduce our material consumption and lighten the amount of equipment to be transported.
3° Logistics
The main objective when sending a project is to minimize journeys, the weight and volume of the pallets, as well as the size of the transport vehicle.
For small projects over short and medium distances, Sur Mesure Expo uses its own light vehicles for transport. For larger trade shows, we pool the transport of several stands into a single heavy goods vehicle. To do this, we also work with a local partner.
4° Storage
Storage is the central point of our organization. Indeed, our logic of reuse is based on the precise management of our stocks with a view to being able to reuse each element at any time to reduce the quantity of material to be produced.
Where most of our competitors produce single-use visuals, Sur Mesure Expo has opted for a logic of storage and reuse of visuals.
Here, the ecological advantage goes hand in hand with the economic appeal. When replacing a stand, there is no need to reproduce each of the stand’s visuals; the client therefore does not have to pay for each reprint.
5° Waste Management
All these points of attention obviously have a significant impact on the amount of waste produced by SME. Design, reuse, and intelligent stock management have allowed the company to drastically reduce its waste. The rest is sorted and recycled.
Aware that every process can always be improved, Sur Mesure Expo is committed to improving and detailing its waste management in several stages: clarifying our recurring waste, trying to find an ecological alternative, or detailing the recycling process.
